White Sox announce upcoming series activities

WHAT: Chicago White Sox promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming home series vs. Cleveland and Detroit. Tickets for all seven games of the homestand are available at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and all Ticketmaster locations.

Tuesday's game will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Plus. WCIU-TV will broadcast Wednesday's game, while Comcast SportsNet Chicago broadcasts Thursday, Friday and Sunday's game. The Saturday's 1:10 p.m. game will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Plus, while WGN broadcasts the 6:10 p.m. game. All games will air on WSCR-AM 670 (The Score), the White Sox flagship radio station, and 97.5 FM ESPN Deportes, the White Sox Spanish-language radio affiliate.

  • Giveaway: Reusable White Sox Jersey Lunch Bag presented by Constellation (First 10,000 fans)
  • National Anthem by White Sox anthemist Gina Glocksen
  • Tuesday is the White Sox Green Game and reusable White Sox jersey lunch box giveaway, presented by Constellation. Constellation purchases renewable energy certificates (RECs) to cover the typical energy usage on a game day. The Green Game will include a ceremonial first pitch by a representative from Constellation and green facts shared throughout the game.

The Chicago White Sox host Star Wars Night benefitting Stand Up To Cancer on Friday, August 29. Fans are encouraged to dress in Star Wars attire and participate in a pregame parade around the field. This night will include Star Wars graphics and music throughout the game along with various Star Wars characters. Specially-priced tickets are available at whitesox.com/StarWars, with $5 of each ticket sold through this offer donated to Stand Up To Cancer. The first 750 people to purchase tickets through the link above will receive a special White Sox/Star Wars beanie (see attached image of beanie).

Saturday, August 30, 1:10 p.m. vs. Detroit (Split Doubleheader)

  • This is a rescheduled game from the White Sox rainout vs. Detroit on June 10. Previously purchased tickets, parking passes and patio tickets from June 10, 2014, will be honored for the White Sox 12:10 p.m. game on August 30.

The Spirito Singers is a choral organization comprised of two distinct choirs which are open to young women in Elmhurst, La Grange, Oak Brook, Hinsdale, Western Springs, Downers Grove, Villa Park, Melrose Park and many other Chicagoland western suburbs.

Saturday, August 30, 6:10 p.m. vs. Detroit (Split Doubleheader)

Saturday's fireworks night, presented by Hyundai, will be set to a flashback music soundtrack and feature a special video component highlighting White Sox moments. 

Former White Sox manager and Hall of Famer Tony La Russa will be signing autographs prior to being honored in a pregame ceremony and with a ceremonial first pitch at the White Sox 6:10 p.m. game on Saturday. The autograph session will take place in Section 135 from 5-5:30 p.m. Fans also will have the opportunity to get an up-close look at the authentic Tony La Russa Hall of Fame plaque, on loan from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, N.Y., which will be featured pregame and be on display in Section 157 from the start of the game through the seventh inning. The first 20,000 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a Tony La Russa bobblehead (see attached image). 

  Sunday, August 31, 1:10 p.m. vs. Detroit

  • Family Sunday presented by The University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital
  • National Anthem by White Sox anthemist Miles Hayes

Family Sunday, presented by The University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital, includes free pregame autograph sessions (kids only) and postgame kids run the bases. Tickets are available for as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in Lower Level, with $10 parking. Additional entertainment includes face painters, balloonists, a caricature artist, magnet art and a photo opportunity with the White Sox Broadcast Dashers.
