White Sox Reinstate Javy Guerra from Bereavement List

NEW YORK - Prior to today's game vs. the New York Yankees, the Chicago White Sox reinstated right-hander Javy Guerra from the Bereavement List and sent outfielder Adam Eaton to Class AAA Charlotte on an injury rehabilitation assignment.

Guerra, 28, takes the roster spot of left-hander Eric Surkamp, who was optioned to Charlotte following last night's game. Guerra, who has been on the Bereavement List since August 16, is 1-3 with a 3.00 ERA (11 ER/33.0 IP), five holds and 32 strikeouts in 30 relief appearances with the White Sox this season.

He is hitting .304 (113-372) with 19 doubles, seven triples, one home run, 32 RBI, 55 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 94 games this season, his first with the Chicago. Eaton ranks among the American League leaders in triples (T2nd), on-base percentage (9th, .370) and average (10th).
