Chicago White Sox, Bulls/Sox Academy launch Baseball Glove collection drive

LISLE, IL - The Bulls/Sox Academy, in conjunction with the Chicago White Sox, announce a drive to collect new and used baseball gloves which will be given to disadvantaged Chicago youth baseball players in the Inner City Youth Baseball League. The "Gift of Glove" donation drive is underway now and will conclude on Sunday, September 21.

Every participant donating a glove will receive a voucher for 15 minutes of free hitting and a chance to meet current White Sox centerfielder Adam Eaton*. The individual who donates the most gloves, at each of the three locations, will win four tickets to the White Sox regular season finale at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, vs. Kansas City. In addition, each winner will have the chance-of-a-lifetime opportunity to take a photo with Adam Eaton* during pre-game festivities and receive an authentic autographed baseball bat. (*Current player is subject to availability)

Baseball gloves can be dropped off during normal business hours at any of the three Bulls/Sox Academy locations in Lisle, Glen Ellyn and La Grange. Glove donors should check for directions to each training facility and glove drop-off hours.

The collection drive will support the Baseball Tomorrow Fund, an ongoing commitment from Major League Baseball, its clubs and players to increase opportunities for participation in baseball and softball. Donated gloves will go to the Inner City Youth Baseball League (ICYB) which provides free, safe and structured recreational baseball programming to disadvantaged Chicago youth. The ICYB league is sponsored annually by White Sox Charities.
