Reds at the plate: In a 2-for-3 day with a walk, Brandon Phillips snapped a 0-for-14 stretch with a RBI single in the first inning that scored Drew Stubbs. Phillips later hit a two-run home run to center field in the seventh. Jay Bruce was 1-for-3 and delivered a RBI single that scored Joey Votto in the third inning. After he entered 1-for-15 this spring, Votto was 2-for-3, with a RBI single in the fourth inning.

White Sox at the plate: Alexi Ramirez was 2-for-3 and drove in Chicago's lone run with an RBI single in the top of the sixth. Third baseman Omar Vizquel was 2-for-3. During a four-run top of the ninth, Alejandro De Aza delivered the game-tying RBI triple to right field.

White Sox on the mound: John Danks gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits over 3 2/3 innings. He walked four and struck out two. Sergio Santos followed with 1 1/3 scoreless innings, including one walk and one strikeout. Matt Thornton worked one scoreless inning with two strikeouts. J.J. Putz gave up two earned runs and two hits with one walk and two strikeouts in one inning.

Worth noting: The game was called after nine innings because both teams had used all scheduled pitchers. Former Reds chief operating officer John Allen was at Sunday's game and making his first visit at the completed Goodyear Ballpark. Before he departed in 2008, Allen spearheaded the Reds' negotiations with the city of Goodyear and helped orchestrate the shift of Spring Training from Sarasota, Fla. Allen currently lives in Kansas City.

Cactus League records: Reds 4-4-1; White Sox 4-6-3

Up next: Fifth-starter candidate Mike Lincoln will make his third start of spring when the Reds host the A's at 4:05 p.m. ET on Monday. Lincoln had a rough first outing but pitched two scoreless innings on Wednesday against the Angels. With a combined 2.08 ERA in 17 1/3 innings, Reds starting pitching has been strong all spring. Closer Francisco Cordero is scheduled for his fourth appearance. Cordero had a lousy spring last year but has worked three scoreless innings so far.

The White Sox will have a marquee pitching matchup on Monday in their first night game in Arizona this spring when they hand the ball to lefty Mark Buehrle against the Royals and American League Cy Young Award winner Zack Greinke at Camelback Ranch at 9:05 p.m. CT. Buehrle will make his second start of the spring, following a two-inning tuneup against the Dodgers on March 5. Bobby Jenks, Jeff Marquez, Tony Pena and Carlos Torres also are scheduled to toe the slab for Chicago.
