White Sox reinstate Gillaspie from disabled list; Option Danks to Charlotte


Prior to tonight's game vs. the Cubs, the Chicago White Sox returned third baseman Conor Gillaspie from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list and optioned outfielder Jordan Danks to Class AAA Charlotte.

Gillaspie, 26, has been on the disabled list since April 26 (retroactive to April 22) with a left hand contusion. He went 2-12 (.167) with a home run and RBI in three rehab games with the Knights.

Gillaspie is hitting .302 (19-63) with seven doubles, 12 RBI and eight runs scored over 16 games with the White Sox this season.

Danks, 27, is 4-41 (.098) with a home run and five RBI over 21 games (nine starts) with the White Sox since being recalled from Charlotte on April 10.
