CHICAGO - Today is the final day for fans to take advantage of the early bird discount rate on weekend passes for SoxFest 2014, the annual Chicago White Sox fan gathering.

Fans who purchase a two-night stay at the Palmer House Hilton (special rate of $278, plus applicable taxes and fees) by the end of the day are also eligible to purchase up to four SoxFest weekend passes at a special early-bird rate of $60 each (cost will increase to $75 beginning tomorrow).

SoxFest hotel packages and weekend passes are available for purchase in the same transaction at whitesox.com. Weekend passes only are available for purchase by fans who book the two-night stay. Friday night of SoxFest will be open only to SoxFest hotel guests with weekend passes.

The White Sox recently announced an expanded list of current players scheduled to appear at SoxFest 2014, which now includes Jose Abreu, Adam Dunn, Nate Jones, Avisail Garcia, Matt Lindstrom, Josh Phegley, Alexei Ramirez, Addison Reed and Hector Santiago. Two White Sox prospects, Erik Johnson (who appeared in five games with the White Sox last season) and Marcus Semien (who played in 21 games for the White Sox in 2013), also will be participating in the weekend's events.

SoxFest also offers fans the opportunity to meet their favorite former White Sox players, including past stars Ron Kittle, Carlos May, Minnie Minoso, Tom Paciorek, Gary Peters and Frank Thomas, as well as manager Robin Ventura.

SoxFest 2014 is sponsored by Miller Lite, Pepsi, Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV and will be held Friday, January 24, Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26, 2014.

This is the eighth year the historic Palmer House Hilton will host the annual White Sox fan gathering, now in its 22nd year.
