White Sox outright Simon Castro to Class AAA Charlotte


CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have outrighted right-handed pitcher Simon Castro to Class AAA Charlotte.

Castro, 25, appeared in four games with the White Sox in 2013, going 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA (2 ER/6.2 IP) and six strikeouts.  He made his major-league debut on July 5 at Tampa Bay, throwing 3.0 scoreless IP in relief with four strikeouts.

Castro went 3-7 with a 5.83 ERA (60 ER/92.2 IP) and 82 strikeouts over 27 appearances (12 starts) with Charlotte.

With the move, the White Sox 40-man roster is at 36.
