White Sox outright David Purcey


CHICAGO - The Chicago White Sox have outrighted left-handed pitcher David Purcey to Class AAA Charlotte.

Purcey, 31, went 1-1 with a 2.13 ERA (6 ER/25.1 IP) and 23 strikeouts over 24 relief appearances with the White Sox this season. He limited opponents to a .209 average (19-91), including a .205 mark (9-44) vs. left-handers.

Purcey also was 0-2 with a 3.03 ERA (13 ER/38.2 IP), three saves and 43 strikeouts over 26 appearances with Class AAA Charlotte.

With the move, the White Sox 40-man roster is at 36.
