White Sox smart car raffle winner selected

CHICAGO - Jean Collingbourne from East Dundee, Ill., was randomly selected as the winner of the nearly season-long Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) raffle for a 2013 White Sox themed smart Pure Coupe - generously donated by Mercedes-Benz of Orland Park.

Between May 10 and August 30, the White Sox sold more than 3,500 raffle tickets, raising over $35,000 for White Sox Charities, the team's philanthropic arm. CWSC, which provides financial and emotional support to hundreds of Chicago-based organizations, including those leading the fight against cancer, dedicated to improving the lives of youth through recreation and education, health and wellness, and those offering support to children and families in crisis, has donated more than $17 million since its inception in 1990.

The White Sox will present Collingbourne with her new smart car (image of the vehicle attached), emblazoned with Sox logos and script on all sides, on the field prior to the September 26 game vs. the Kansas City Royals.
