The Chicago White Sox have announced their 2014 regular-season schedule, with Opening Day on Monday, March 31 vs. Minnesota at U.S. Cellular Field (3:10 p.m. CT). The opener is part of a three-game series (with an off day on April 1) against the division-rival Twins. The club opens the season at home for the second consecutive season and seventh time in the last 10 years.
The first trip of the season features six games at Kansas City (April 4-6) and Colorado (April 7-9).
The Rockies are the first of six interleague opponents the White Sox face in 2014. Chicago will play just its second series at AT&T Park vs. San Francisco (August 12-13). The White Sox and Giants also will play at U.S. Cellular Field (June 17-18). Other interleague opponents in 2014 include: the Crosstown series vs. the Cubs (May 5-6 at Wrigley Field and May 7-8 at U.S. Cellular Field); Arizona (May 9-11 at U.S. Cellular Field); San Diego (May 30-June 1 at U.S. Cellular Field) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (June 2-4 at Dodger Stadium).
The White Sox play two series with each American League team outside the Central division, including the following dates at home: Boston (April 15-17); Tampa Bay (April 25-28); New York Yankees (May 22-25); Los Angeles Angels (June 30-July 2); Seattle (July 4-6); Houston (July 18-20); Texas (August 4-6); Toronto (August 15-17); Baltimore (August 18-20); and Oakland (September 8-11).
Chicago will host two, three-team homestands (May 22-June 1 and June 9-18) and take three, three-city trips (May 12-21; June 19-29; September 15-24).
The White Sox play 13 home weekend series during the 2014 season, including interleague series vs. the Diamondbacks and Padres, a four-game set vs. the Yankees and the final series of the season vs. Kansas City (September 25-28).
The 2014 schedule is tentative and subject to change. Finalized game times and a complete broadcast schedule will be released at a later date.
