Viciedo day to day with jammed left thumb

CHICAGO -- White Sox left fielder Dayan Viciedo exited Monday's game against the Yankees in the bottom of the first inning with a jammed left thumb. Viciedo suffered the injury while diving for Robinson Cano's single in the top of the first.

Viciedo couldn't make the catch, but threw out Cano trying to stretch his single into a double. Alejandro De Aza pinch-hit for Viciedo and struck out with runners on first and second and then took over in center, moving Casper Wells to left field.

X-rays were negative and Viciedo is listed as day to day.

"It was one of those that we wanted to make sure nothing was wrong. He's fine," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. "They had X-rays and he's good."
