White Sox reinstate Paul Konerko from Disabled List


Prior to tonight's game vs. Detroit, the Chicago White Sox returned first baseman Paul Konerko from his injury rehabilitation assignment with Class AA Birmingham and reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list.

Konerko, 37, has been on the disabled list since July 3 with a lower back strain. He did not play from June 25-30 due to the injury. Konerko has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, going 11-31 (.355) with a double, home run and five RBI. 

The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder appeared in three rehabilitation games with Birmingham from July 18-20, going 4-10 (.400).

Konerko is hitting .249 (63-253) with nine doubles, seven home runs, 30 RBI and 25 runs scored
