Guillen leaving to be with ill father-in-law
CHICAGO -- White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen will leave the team following Friday's contest with Pittsburgh in order to return to Venezuela to be with his ailing father-in-law. Guillen plans to come back to Chicago on Sunday, although it's not certain whether he will be present for the series finale.
Guillen was absent on Saturday and Sunday from the White Sox games in Toronto, coming home to attend the college graduation of his eldest son, Ozzie Jr. Bench coach Joey Cora managed both of those contests in Guillen's absence.
The White Sox begin a six-game, seven-day road trip in Anaheim on Memorial Day, which also features a weekend, three-game set in Kansas City to close out the month.
