White Sox Reinstate Dayan Viciedo From Disabled List


CHICAGO - Prior to tonight's game vs. the Los Angeles Angels, the Chicago White Sox returned outfielder Dayan Viciedo from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list. To make room for Viciedo on the active roster, the White Sox optioned outfielder Jordan Danks to Charlotte.

Viciedo, 24, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 20 (retroactive to April 19) with a strained left oblique suffered on April 18 at Toronto. He made four starts with the Knights during his rehab assignment.

Viciedo is hitting .229 (11-48) with two homers and five RBI in 13 games this season. He was 7-14 (.500) with three doubles in his last four games prior to the injury.Danks, 26, has appeared in nine games (four starts) with the White Sox this season, going 3-15 (.200) with one home run and two RBI. He hit a game-winning solo homer in the top of the 11th inning on May 6 at Kansas City.
