White Sox taking little solace in close games

CHICAGO -- Seventeen of the White Sox 19 games this season have been decided by three runs or less, with them holding a 6-11 record in those 17. They are 4-6 in one-run games, 1-3 in two-run games and 1-2 in three-run games.

Close is not quite good enough for manager Robin Ventura.

"You're giving yourself a lot of opportunities and playing just sloppy is what it is," Ventura said. "That's where guys get frustrated.

"We all get frustrated. When that gets cleaned up, you're in games, and when that feeling turns, you're going to win games. That's a big boost of momentum once you get it."
