Nix suffered a strained right quad during Wednesday night's game in Las Vegas and has not played since exiting that contest with the Cubs at Cashman Field in the top of the fourth. Although Nix took flips on Saturday morning, White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen wants to make sure Nix is 100 percent before returning him to the field.
"That's kind of a dangerous spot," said Guillen of the injury suffered by Nix, who has five hits in seven at-bats this spring. "As soon as you really hurt it, it's hard to recover."
Brent Lillibridge was scratched from Saturday's starting lineup against the Rangers with a bad case of the flu, replaced by non-roster invite Eider Torres. Guillen sent Lillibridge home and plans to keep him inactive until Wednesday's home game against Milwaukee, so as not to spread the flu around the clubhouse.
"I don't want anybody to catch the flu here," Guillen said. "After the day off, he should be ready."
Getz knocked out two hits on Saturday, including a hustle double leading off the sixth. Gordon Beckham also could play second in the next few days, as well as Wilson Betemit.
