MINNEAPOLIS -- White Sox left-hander Francisco Liriano will face his former team on Saturday.

The rainout of Thursday's White Sox-Tigers game prompted manager Robin Ventura to shuffle his starting rotation on Friday. With Chris Sale's start moved to the series opener against the Twins, Liriano was shifted to Saturday. Jake Peavy will still start Sunday's series finale at Target Field.

Jose Quintana will start Monday's scheduled makeup game against Detroit and Gavin Floyd will make his second start since coming off the disabled list on Tuesday against Kansas City.

"We just feel it's the right thing to do," Ventura. "We're also taking care of Quintana. He threw a lot of innings the last time out. We're protecting him, giving him an extra couple of days. He doesn't miss any starts the rest of the way. More just getting him more rest.

"Gavin coming back, being off the DL, you give him that extra day, too."
