White Sox option Heath to Triple-A Charlotte

CHICAGO -- Following Sunday’s game vs. Toronto, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Deunte Heath to Triple-A Charlotte.

Heath, 26, did not make an appearance with the White Sox after being recalled from Charlotte on July 4.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder has gone 4-2 with a 1.70 ERA (8 ER/42.1 IP), one save and 46 strikeouts in 22 games (three starts) with the Knights this season.  Heath has limited opponents to a .199 (31-156) average with a 4.6:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio (10 walks).

A corresponding roster move will be made prior to the game on July 13 at Kansas City.
