White Sox acquire pitchers Jaye, Webb for Frasor


CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox have acquired right-handed pitchers Myles Jaye and Daniel Webb from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for right-hander Jason Frasor.


Jaye, who turned 20 on December 28, made his professional debut in 2011 with Advanced Rookie Bluefield of the Appalachian League, going 3-3 with a 3.00 ERA (18 ER/54.0 IP) and 49 strikeouts in 13 appearances (nine starts).  The 6-foot-3, 170-pounder limited opponents to a .239 (48-201) average.


Jaye, a native of Fayetteville, Ga., was selected by the Blue Jays in the 17th round of the 2010 draft.


Webb, 22, spent most of the 2011 season with Class A Lansing in the Midwest League, where he went 4-5 with a 5.59 ERA (41 ER/66.0 IP) and 51 strikeouts.  The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Webb also made one relief appearance with Bluefield.


Webb was drafted by the Blue Jays in the 18th round of the 2009 draft out of Northwest Florida State College.  He has gone 5-12 with a 5.11 ERA (77 ER/135.2 IP) in 34 games (27 starts) over two minor-league seasons.


Frasor, 34, combined to go 3-3 with a 3.60 ERA (24 ER/60.0 IP) and 57 strikeouts in 64 relief appearances between the Blue Jays and White Sox in 2011.  He was acquired from Toronto with pitcher Zach Stewart on July 27 in exchange for pitcher Edwin Jackson and infielder/outfielder Mark Teahen.  In 20 appearances with the Sox, Frasor went 1-2 with a 5.09 ERA (10 ER/17.2 IP).
