Dye leaves with strained left groin

CHICAGO -- White Sox right fielder Jermaine Dye left Thursday night's 7-6 victory over the Yankees with a strained left groin. His absence will extend through the start of a series with the Orioles that begins on Friday night, according to manager Ozzie Guillen.

"He not playing [Friday]," Guillen said. "He's fine. It's not a big deal. But it's my rule -- if you get taken out, you get another day."

The White Sox right fielder exited after the sixth inning. Nick Swisher moved from center field to right, with Alexei Ramirez going from second base to center and Juan Uribe entering the game at second.
