Goldberg, 27, just completed second-round play in the World Baseball Classic's Pool E in Tokyo for Team Israel, which was eliminated Wednesday following an 8-3 loss to Japan. Goldberg pitched two innings over two outings, striking out two and giving up two hits.
Beck, who ranked as the club's No. 12 prospect in 2015 per MLBPipeline.com, struggled to a 6.39 ERA and 20-17 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 25 1/3 big league innings last year. The 26-year-old has had a tough road since breaking into the Majors, having suffered an ulnar nerve injury after one MLB start in '15.
Soto, who was claimed off waivers from the A's in November, was trying to compete for a bullpen spot after spending all of 2016 in the Minors with affiliates for the Indians and Cubs. He was 1-3 with a 5.14 ERA in 33 relief appearances at Triple-A Iowa, striking out 55 and walking 31 in 49 innings.
Garcia, who once rated as Pittsburgh's No. 12 prospect, was claimed off waivers fom the Bucs in January, coming off a 2016 season in which he hit .245/.293/.366 with six home runs and 43 RBIs in 129 games, while striking out 131 times for Triple-A Indianapolis.
Danish, Chicago's second-round pick in 2013 and its current No. 21 prospect, is working his way back from season-ending surgery to his left knee.
