"I've been gaining valuable experience this season. I'm glad to be in Chicago."
Danks' first Major League season has "had some good and some bad." Danks started the season strong, but hasn't won a game since July 16. He is 6-12 with a 5.51 ERA in 24 starts this season. With September callups coming up, Danks' role the final month of the season is unclear.
"I'm the manager, and I don't even know who's going to be here," Ozzie Guillen said. "We're going to wait and see."
Whether or not Thursday's game will be Danks' last start of the season, he knows one thing -- he'll have a lot of support.
"Technically, I ran out [of tickets] for my family and friends," Danks said. "It's just fun seeing everyone, it's going to be a great three days."
Cintron put on restricted list:
The White Sox placed utility infielder Alex Cintron on the restricted list Tuesday as his seven-day bereavement leave expired. He was placed on the bereavement list on Aug. 21 to attend to his mother in Puerto Rico, and has not rejoined the team.
"I want him to get here for good," Guillen said.
Cintron is expected to rejoin the White Sox when they open a three-game series at Cleveland on Friday.
Guillen said he'd like infielder Pablo Ozuna to return before the end of the season. Ozuna is on the 60-day disabled list with a broken leg.
Outfielder Scott Podsednik is nearing his return, but is still day-to-day with a strained rib cage.
"As soon as he's ready, he'll get some at-bats," Guillen said. "I'm not sure how many, though."
Quote of the day:
"I would have liked to have pitched against them at some point this year. But whether they're in town or not, I'm still trying to get back to being healthy. But as far as trying to impress them, I'm not thinking about that." -- McCarthy, who is on the disabled list with a stress fracture in his right shoulder blade
