Uribe shows speed in loss to Royals

White Sox at the plate: Juan Uribe had an inside-the-park homer in the second inning. Jermaine Dye and Paul Konerko each collected doubles.

Royals at the plate: Ross Gload, who played the past three seasons with the White Sox, homered in the seventh and also singled. Emil Brown singled, walked, stole two bases and scored a run.

White Sox on the mound: Adam Russell allowed one run on five hits in four innings, while striking out four and walking two. Left-hander Andrew Sisco allowed one run on three hits in 1 1/3 innings.

Royals on the mound: Zack Greinke gave up two runs on two hits and one walk, his first of Spring Training, while striking out three in five innings. Octavio Dotel worked two innings for the first time in Spring Training. He struck out five and allowed one hit and no runs.

Cactus League records: White Sox 8-13; Royals 9-11

Up next: The Royals are off Tuesday before playing the Athletics on Wednesday at 8:05 p.m. CT at Surprise Stadium. Brian Bannister will start for the Royals, while the A's probable will be Joe Blanton. The White Sox will start Charlie Haeger on Tuesday at 3:05 p.m. CT against the Athletics, who will start Rich Harden.
